Here are some questions sent to me by another blogger:

1. Where in the world is your favourite holiday destination? Of the places I’ve been, the place I loved the most was Hoi Ann in Vietnam. But I like to go to different places rather than one place repeatedly.
In Hoi Ann

2. What was your favourite subject at school? Art but I didn’t study it because I didn’t like our art dept.

3. What would be the first thing you did if you won the Lottery? Go on holiday! To India.

4. Who would you want to be marooned on a desert island with? My husband and children of course! Is that pathetic?!

5. What would be your ideal date night? Emlyn, shiraz, pizza, chocolate, dvd, doings.

6. Full English or Continental? Bit of both, I like Eggs, cheese, tomatoes and olives ideally. I am not being a ponce here tho, this was just a perfect combo I discovered from an all inclusive holiday in Cyprus!

7. What talent do you wish you had? To be able to act.

8. Which are your favourite pair of shoes? My battered fit flops in the summer and comfy boots in the winter.

The Sardinian sea we snorkelled in everyday on honeymoon.
9. What’s your best memory? Being drunk in a field in Glastonbury as a teenager, without a care in the world. Or on my honeymoon snorkelling with my husband in the med. Or tucking my son up into bed when he was little and just learning to talk and him asking for his “nummy” (dummy). It made my heart burst. All of those things!

10. Summer or Winter? Normally summer but as I LOVE Christmas, it’s going to have to be Winter.

11. Who do you think is the most famous person in the world? This is an unusual question! I don’t know, it’s probably somebody rubbish like David Beckham!

My 11 Random Facts:

I’m a dragon in the Chinese Horoscope. Dragons are supposedly lucky (I think I am a lucky person), make great leaders (YES!) and are full of shit apparently. Er…..

I used to be obsessed with the Foo Fighters from the years 1995 – 2003. SO much so that in my head, I was married to Dave Grohl for all that time. Hence my email address.

I lived in Melbourne, Australia for a year.

I am great at doing regional accents but have no ability to act, rendering this the most pointless talent in the history of talents.

I’m quite a good swimmer despite being really fat.

I can sing (in tune).

I’ve got a degree in Fine Art and Art History but I work in Finance.

Me in said outfit on my 18th, loving the attention!
My 18th Birthday outfit was made by Tom Jones’s cousin from Pontypridd.

Eight years ago I was 8 stone lighter than I am today.

I used to have one of my nipple’s pierced. (is that TMI? I’m not very good at not sharing!)

I have a weird obsession with Flageolet beans, ever since I had them in a little steak house in France as a kid. I eat them cold from the tin.
Delicious beeeeeeans!

Who Can EVER Sleep?

If you're someone who struggles to sleep *flings hand up* then you are possibly obsessed, like me, with how other people sleep. How do people sleep? How can anyone EVER sleep?!  You may be one of those super lucky people who can sleep on a chicken’s lip! You put your head on the pillow and poof! You're asleep! You absolute lucky dabber. My relationship with sleep has always been weird. Apparently, I slept well as a baby. I was a very early riser, but I needed my bed early. I remember in Junior school my bedtime was always earlier than my friends. Boo! No Adrian Mole for me! But if I got overtired, I would get really nauseous and often actually vom. (Bad times for my vom-averse mother!)  As an adult I've had lots of bouts of bad sleep especially during stressful periods. I remember visiting a lavender farm in Oz and left convinced that the "sleep balm" I'd bought held the key to the secrets of sleep! It didn't. My pregnancies were tricky, and sleep was

JUST YOU WAIT, Said no kind person ever. TEEN VERSION.

Ah shite. I’ve become THAT mum. The mum of a teen who wants to scream JUST YOU WAIT! I mean, I say I WANT to scream because I know I shouldn’t. But I did, accidentally, to a colleague the other day. She was talking about her niece battling a newly emerged three-anger from a very docile 2 yr old. And it just came out by mistake. I was mid-way through half term, half working, half battling bored kids. Stressed, thinking about all the things I need to do and haven’t done.   So, I blurted it. “Ugh, she should wait til they’re teens! Constant but incomprehensible anger, unmitigated selfishness and they NEVER go to bed”. My colleague, bless her, defended her niece. As well she should. “Well, she’s finding it pretty tough”. I felt awful. Of course, she is! Having a small, unreasonable being who doesn’t know if they want peas/chips/yogurt even when they have it in their hands, is exhausting. The tantrums leave you wrecked, you’ve likely been awake super early, no daytime naps to have d

Panic & Anxiety: Welcome To Hell.

This week we have World Mental Health Day, so I thought I’d write a bit about my experience of anxiety and panic attacks. I know that when I was in the height of my panic disorder it was a great comfort to me to talk to people who knew what I was going though. It’s a pretty unique ordeal and for fellow sufferers: I feel your pain. Or more specifically, your fear. And for those of you who have never had depression or anxiety, it can be quite difficult to understand how it feels. Why you can't just "pull yourself together" or "cheer up". Logic and common sense have absolutely no bearing on mental illness.  So if you have never been in receipt of the delight that is a panic / anxiety attack, let me attempt to describe what it feels like to the uninitiated: Imagine you’re just going about your day. You’re doing something fairly innocuous like sitting on the bus or doing the washing up. You’re not thinking about anything in particular, nothing sad or happy o
